In order to promote interest and understanding in media art, Videotage is organizing a public education program ‘Art in Blink’ as a side event of the ‘Louis Vuitton: A Passion for Creation’ exhibition. A series of events including free visit to the exhibition with guided tour, lectures and workshops will be held during the month of July. From appreciation to practice, this program will be a platform for discussing and sharing of ideas, also to nurture creativity and promote critical thinking in media art .

For the lectures and workshops, we have invited Ms. County Tam (Programme Coordinator, Higher Diploma in Media Art, Hong Kong Art School) and Mr. Keith Lam (New Media Artist) to lead the participants to first understand the genre of media art, then further develop their interest by practicing.

由破壞開始創作，從拆毀進行建設。工作坊延續講座的主題，學員會從一系列破壞電子用品的行為中進行創作。從破壞開始，了解媒體的結構，運用媒體的特性，反思媒體和介面的可能，再由拆散的零件堆中從新建立，進行電子媒體藝術創作。

About the speakers:

County Tam is an art critic. Before she moved to theoretical study, she had been interested in dance and performing arts for many years. Her research interest is human body’s role in new media (art), the convergence of science and art, and various forms of body cultures. In early 90s, County has been studied Chinese Dance at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Later she acquired her B.A. and M.Phil. degree at the University of Hong Kong, from the department of Comparative Literature. Currently she is doing a PhD study in the School of Chinese at the University of Hong Kong. Formed in 1999 an on-line cultural magazine “Alias”, County grows her interest to explore the possibility of cultural theory with multimedia forms. The Alias group was invited by Videotage, a local media art organization, to present to Institutes and image art organizations in Japan in 2000. She is now the programme coordinator of Higher Diploma in Media Art of Hong Kong Art School.

County Tam (耿婷)，藝評人，探索媒體包括文字、影像、身體、劇場及網絡等。早年於香港演藝學院主修中國舞，及後於香港大學比較文學系取得學士及碩士學位，現時為香港大學中文學院博士研究生；研究範圍包括媒體理論及身體文化。1999年創立網絡雜誌Alias，實驗各種結合文化理論的多媒體創作，曾被邀往日本文化交流。曾於香港城市大學創意媒體學院任職導師，現為香港藝術學院媒體藝術高級文憑課程統籌。

Keith Lam (a.k.a. the Demos) ,born in Hong Kong at 1980, an new media arts artist, Artistic Director of an new media art group “dimension+“, Visiting Lecturer of School of Design of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Hong Kong Art School. He was an Instructor at the School of Creative Media, Technical Director and consultant of Microwave International New Media Arts Festival. His artworks have been invited to numerous festivals around the world, including CyberArs at Ars Electronica Festival at Austria, Split Film Festival at Croatia, AveCom at Holland, Microwave International New Media Arts Festival, Wikimania 2007, Eslite Digital Caillgraphy Exhibition, Taiwan Digital Media Art Archive Festival and Hong Kong Arts Biennale, etc. His work “Moving Mario” has awarded the Honorary Mention in Ars Electronica 2008 Interactive Arts Category, and has been exhibiting around the world media art festival including Austria, Croatia, Holland and Switzerland, etc. Because of his effort and remarkable achievements on arts, Keith has awarded Award for Young Artist (Film & Media Arts) of Hong Kong Arts Development Awards 2008.
Aside from this, he is working on audiovisual with new media. He has participated in live performance in various countries including “French May ‘06 Arts Festival”, “Wikimania 2008 Taipei”, New Vision Arts Festival 08, DIGIT@LOGUE etc. And also participated in compilation albums such as “Xiang Gang Electric Vol.1,” “the Dusty City,” “When French Electro Meets Hong Kong”, etc.
At the same time, he is active in the new media arts education and has been lead various workshops such as Playaround workshop in Taiwan ational Chiao Tung University, Procedural Animation@Microwave, IFVA interactive media, Design by Number @National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, Addict – Digital Fascination Forum, etc.

林欣傑 (Keith Lam)（a.k.a theDemos）1980出生於香港，為新媒體藝術家，現職藝術團體dimension+ 藝術總監，香港理工大學設計學院和香港藝術學院的客席講師。曾任職香港城市大學創意媒體學院導師，「微波國際新媒體藝術節」擔任技術總監及顧問。他創作的作品被邀請到世界各地多個藝術展展出，包括CyberArs@Ars Electronica Festival (奧地利電子藝術節), Split Film Festival@克羅地亞, AveCom@荷蘭, 台灣數位典藏藝術節 ,「微波國際新媒體藝術節」、Wikimania 2007，誠品的董陽孜書法展中聯合創作作品 “書法.空間.運算”和「香港藝術雙年展2003」等等。其中大型互動裝置『Moving Mario』獲得電子藝術界桂冠－奧地利電子藝術節（Ars Electronica）2008 互動藝術組別的榮譽提名，並於該藝術節展出，亦於荷蘭、瑞士、克羅地亞等世界各地不同地方的藝術節展出。其在藝術上的努力及成就讓他榮獲香港藝術發展獎2008之藝術新秀獎（電影及媒體藝術）。
