Technology has been leaping multiple boundaries at rapid speeds. From the development of the internet, to the evolution of smart-phones, and even to the new emergence of social networks, and online storing technology, our everyday lives have been connected in a way that we may no longer truly understand.

Coming on 28th March, Videotage presents the independent documentary film “Connected”. The film explores how the human connection has evolved following technological development.

The screening will take place in Videotage (Unit 13, Cattle Depot Artist Village, 63 Ma Tau Kok Road), after which it will be followed by a discussion led by Professor Katrien Jacobs. We welcome everyone to join in and be connected!

A celebrated thinker and catalyst, she’s known for her ability to illuminate complex ideas in culture, science, technology, and life through her unique films, dynamic talks, and innovative projects.

Katrien received a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature and Media from the University of Maryland at College Park. She has continued to work as a scholar and media artist who investigates the role of digital networks in people’s experiences with the body, art, and sexuality. She has lectured and published widely about pornography, censorship and media activism in Hong Kong and global media environments.
