Conceived in 2004 as a concurrent event of the Business of Design Week, deTour, namely “one of the most exciting events on Hong Kong’s cultural calendar” by CNN, is back again this year. Taking place strategically in Central’s iconic venue PMQ, it wants to embody the creativity, progressiveness and impermanence of “temporary stage”, and translate it though deTour’s very fine selection of designs from all around the world.

Videotage will be presenting the work HKG Transit from UK artist Chris Shen, an installation work that plays on the theme of interactivity within the landscape of media consumption. It is a continuation of a previous work Rastrum, first exhibited at the V&A Museum in London (2013), featuring footage filmed from various viewpoints of Hong Kong’s road, rail and ferry systems. The work is created during Shen’s art residency at Videotage in Hong Kong (2015).
