October Contemporary - AGAIN拾月當代2007 – 《再》
October Contemporary 2007 is the first annual event dedicated to promoting contemporary art and artists in Hong Kong.
Eight of the city’s leading art spaces and institutions have joined forces to present a series of exhibitions, talks, workshops, seminars and performances for the month of October, to feed and develop current discourses on culture and the arts. Every year, each of the participating organisations will unite under one umbrella theme and develop an exciting programme from our various perspectives.
The theme of “AGAIN” has been selected for this inaugurating year – addressing the bridging and/or fusing of the traditional and the modern, in media, methods and styles in contemporary art. “AGAIN” is relevant to Hong Kong’s unique culture of fusion, blending the traditional with the contemporary, mixing of the old and the new, and merging of the past with the present, developing a new discourse for the future.
October Contemporary aims to foster a constructive and healthy environment where art spaces and institutions can build stronger ties within the community. Collaboration enables us to reach a wider audience to nurture and deepen awareness, understanding and appreciation for current developments in art, whilst transpiring new and innovative ideas.

「拾月當代2007」是香港首個每年一度以當代藝術及藝術家為題的活動。
八大藝術空間及機構聯手舉辦一系列展覽、講座、工作坊、座談會及表演等，對文化與藝術展開深入探討。每年十月,各參與的藝術單位將圍繞一個既定的題目，舉辦不同形式的節目。
今年的主題「再」著眼於現代藝術在媒體、方法和形式上如何連接及糅合傳統與摩登。「再」與香港的獨特融合文化息息相關，調和傳統與現代，兼容新與舊，融合過去與當下，開創對未來的探討。
「拾月當代」旨在孕育一個健全的環境，讓藝術空間及機構能與社區建立更密切的聯繫。透過合作，我們能夠接觸更大層面的公眾，加深大家對當代藝術發展的認識和興趣，誘發創新意念。
