HK-UK Digital Residency
FACT (Liverpool), Near Now (Nottingham), Sudden Beams (Brighton), and Videotage (Hong Kong) are proud to co-present the “HK-UK Digital Residency”, a hybrid artist residency that incubates emerging artists on Game Art.
In a hybrid format, the program consists of two parts – a one-month joined-up exchange programme online and a 10-day intensive workshop and field trip in the UK. Six artists from Hong Kong and the UK work together to experiment, encounter, and share their works-in-progress at Liverpool, Nottingham, and Brighton in October 2024, followed by a final presentation in Hong Kong.
This program aims to foster exchange between early career artists from different art ecologies to expand their ideas of screen culture and non-linear storytelling and practices in new screen technologies.
Additionally, the artists are supported with skilled mentoring and production direction to explore the potential of new technologies and new screen-based media.
On a non-outcome basis, we encourage the artists to share and showcase their continuously evolving research projects with people they encounter in the programme, namely other artists, curators, technologists, gallerists, and essentially, the audiences through the public events during the residency.
