The Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau, K11 Art Foundation and Videotage are pleased to present Micromégas: Hong Kong – Open Studio, showcasing the development of the French artist Théodora Barat’s research on city-suburban relationships and electrical infrastructures in Hong Kong. The open studio accompanied with artist-led tour by Barat will be held on Friday, 2 April at the artist’s residence space V54.

Micromégas artist residency aims to facilitate artistic and cultural exchanges between France and Hong Kong, while nurturing the practices of next-generation media artists. Micromégas: Hong Kong has brought the French artist Théodora Barat to Hong Kong for an 8-week residency from February to April 2021 to create a new media artwork. As a continuation of her past works exploring city-suburban relationships in the U.S. and France, Barat highlights how the electrical infrastructures of the New Territories were built exclusively to supply urban areas with electricity in Hong Kong, reflecting on land uses in relation to globalization.

法國駐港澳總領事館、K11 Art Foundation與錄映太奇共同呈獻「微觀巨世：藝術家駐場計劃」，帶來法國藝術家巴拉特（Théodora Barat）的開放式工作室，展示其對香港城市近郊關係和電力基建進行研究的過程。開放式工作室於4月2日（星期五）在V54駐留大宅舉行，藝術家將會親自帶領導賞，與觀眾互動交流。

「微觀巨世」駐場計劃旨在促進法國和香港之間的藝術和文化交流，同時培育下一代媒體藝術家。巴拉特為「微觀巨世：香港」的駐留藝術家，於2021年2月至4月駐港8星期，製作新的媒體藝術作品。是次駐場計劃為巴拉特過去研究的延伸。她曾在美國和法國探討城市與近郊關係，今次在香港聚焦於專為市區供電而建的新界電力基建，反思全球化如何形塑土地。
