Ellen Pau: Time After Time Will Tell
Time After Time Will Tell is a hybrid exhibition of video installation art and archival materials. It explores cultural and political realities against the magnitude of time, through the works of Hong Kong media art pioneer Ellen Pau.
In collaboration with Videotage and 1961 Projects in Singapore, this exhibition showcases video installation works by Ellen Pau from the late 80s and early 90s. To reflect the historical context of her art making process, archival exhibits are selected from Videotage Media Art Collection (VMAC), including correspondence, publications, photo documentation, etc. From a micro perspective, Ellen Pau’s use of video as a time-based medium intimately delivers socio-politically infused emotions by manipulating frames and glitches. From a macro perspective, her art, with the very temporal quality and its significance in media art history, emphasizes the passage of time, witnessing the ups and downs, fools and kings in urban society.
