Feed! A Night For John Cage
Videotage is pleased to present Feed!, a night dedicated to John Cage, one of the most influential figures in music, sound and contemporary art.
A talk Playing Chess With the Death of the Author – Scripting Chance in Event Systems will be given by Alan Smart, architect, historian and critic. Steve Hui (Nerve) will conduct a ‘soundtracking’ music performance, an idea that will be further expanded in Soundtracking#John Cage, a collaborative creation remaking John Cage’s 4’33″ as part of Feed! Wikitopia.
Feed! also provides a premier taste of Four minutes’ thirty three seconds” and Enigma, two special wines designed for the centennials of John Cage and Alan Turing, the father of computer science and artificial intelligence.
The event serves as the commencement of Feed! Wikitopia, a recurrent festival on network culture, social media and knowledge sharing. Major programmes of the Festival will be held in September and October 2012.
