Chan Tai-lee loves dramas and documentaries with great passion. His experimental documentary, Mother won the gold award in the 10th ifva Awards Open Category in 2005. Chan’s other shorts were selected for screening in different Film Festivals. After Bachelor of CTV graduation. Chan works as screenplay writer, participated in different commercial movies, include Escape from Hong Kong Island, Ip Man, Ip Man 2, Magic to Win, The Monkey King 3D, The Way We Dance etc.

1981年出生於香港。2003年浸會大學傳理學院電影電視系畢業。同年加入電視廣播有限公司任新聞節目導演。任職電視臺期間，隨任職東方影片公司的雷宇揚創作劇本。2004年離開電視臺以自由身擔任電影編劇。陳在浸會時已拍攝獨立短片， 2005年憑DV格式的18分鐘短片《媽》獲得第十屆ifva 比賽公開組金獎。其後曾參與編寫《葉問》（ 2008 ） 和《葉問2》（2010）的劇本。2010年在參與編寫《西遊記之大鬧天宮》（2014）時，得以與著名編劇司徒錦源合作。2012年以一個母親和一個需要特殊照顧的兒子的關係發展影片《黃金花》（2017）的故事。完成劇本後數年終籌集到足夠資金，在2016年開拍及完成拍攝工作。2017年上映特別場，2018年正式公映。兩位主角毛舜筠及凌文龍憑《黃金花》在2018年第三十七屆香港電影金像獎分別獲最佳女主角及最佳新演員。
