Earth Water Wind Fire
A plaster model of human head is placed in running water and steam, the plaster model continues to wear off as the water hits it, revealing red-color flesh-like texture underneath. This work integrates rarely linked forms of media: video and ceramic sculpture. In Buddhist teachings, all material things, from a speck of dust to the vast world, are composed of four basic elements-Earth, Wind and Fire. These elements, combine and disintegrate as a result of causes and effects. All materials things perpetually re-create, extinct and transmute. Ceramic sculpture or a human being is no exception. Existence is merely a tentative integration of the basic elements. The essence of life is transient.
