How can “9” this number be in a video? 9 close-circuit televisions, 9 “time and space”, 9 “me”, 9 x 31 seconds “duration”, 9 pitches of note of the music, 9 musical instruments, 9 rhythmic patterns, 9… The numerology of “9” not only links up both the visual and audio elements in this video, it also establishes a new relationship between music and moving images. The music not only serves as a foil to the atmosphere of the video, it shares the same importance of the images. Each close-circuit television is represented by a particular pitch of note and musical instrument. For this reason, the music is “composed” by the design of the video while the video is “designed” by the arrangement of the music.
