O Sole Mio, is part of a series of videos “Molting Cities” in which pictures of Macau’s landmarks from the past are blended with present footage.

The city takes a hybrid shape where past and present are intertwined.

In this video several layers of video are blended on top of one of the oldest pictures of the founding heritage landmark of Macau Ah Ma Temple.

The vocal soundtrack “O Sole Mio” is a song commonly sung by the tourist boat handlers or gondoliers in the canals of the city Venice in Italy.

It was recorded in Macau and interpreted by a Russian gondolier from The Venetian casino.

「我的太陽」是「蛻變城市」短片系列的一部分，片中將澳門往日地標的圖片與現今的片段相融合。

城市擁有一種混合的形態，過去與現在相互交織。

在這個短片中，最底部顯現的是澳門最古老的遺產地標媽閣廟所存的最古老照片，而其他數層短片則在媽閣廟的老照片影像上層層疊疊。

背景歌曲「我的太陽」是意大利威尼斯運河上，遊船船夫最經常吟唱的一首歌。

短片中的這首歌在澳門錄製，由威尼斯人娛樂場的一位俄羅斯貢朵拉船夫演繹。

Yves Etienne Sonolet is a French visual artist born in Paris. He holds a Master Degree with honors in Fine Arts from the ISDAT, Toulouse France and since then is based in Macau SAR. In his work he is interested in mixing media using urban landscape as theme and support. He has been teaching digital media, photography and video as visiting professor at the universities UMAC, USJ and HKUS.
