After Flying
The natural landscape serves as a metaphorical canvas for my visual storytelling. In “After Flying,” a deflated balloon spirals from outside the frame into the sky within the frame, ultimately collapsing onto the lake’s surface. During this concise filming process, although it cannot leave brushstrokes like a painting, the unusual behavior and sounds of the balloon deeply imprint an impression in the viewer’s mind. Similar to how Argentine-Italian artist Lucio Fontana slashed his canvases in the 1950s, this impression inadvertently leads the viewer into a moment of lyrical perception. I believe that in our contemporary era, where technology and media continuously expand our material desires and spiritual needs, an underlying pure joy remains in the hearts of the viewers.
