CHECKPOINT is an analogy of immigration carried through an existential process of the desire to be somewhere greater realised in the medium of gaming animation, using real-time computer graphics engines to create a cinematic work.
The film was originally commissioned to be exhibited at REX KL (Malaysia) in 2021 as part of SENSORII, an experiential digital art exhibition, curated by Yap Sau Bin. The music composer for the exhibition was Muriz Rose from the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra in Kuala Lumpur
