Hyperobjectivity
In his practice, Paul has explored video in many contexts, from anthropological storytelling, performance art, pseudo-documentary, animation, and real-time photography. His current exploration of video is based on the post-digital, using sequencing created in Epic’s Unreal Engine that is then transferred to VHS and MiniDV cameras and back to digital. This is an experimental and emergent area of my work that creates a bridge between digital and analogue technologies, celebrating the innate qualities of the surface tension inherent in each media.
